These pieces represent my early journey with painting, each one exploring new techniques and mediums.
Vase & Flowers
Originally inspired by Balthasar van Der Ast’s 1628 ‘Flowers in a Vase with Shells and Insects’ painting. This was my interpretation, which I completed in four years.
Vase & Flowers by Luz, Acrylic on a Canvas, 2021.
Blushing Bride
This was one of my first attempts at painting with acrylics; I found a picture of a gorgeous bride on Pinterest. I loved the refined look on the bride’s face and the glamour she carried in the picture.
Blushing Bride, by Luz, Acrylic on a Canvas, 2019.
Bubblegum Clouds
Inspired by Cotton Candy Venus by Will Cotton, this painting has been one of my favorites. I liked the constant state of daydreaming and being up in the clouds, the space this painting shows.
Bubblegum Clouds, by Luz, Acrylic on a Canvas, 2019.
Space Odyssey
Initially, my idea was to capture the sky and space, as I am a dreamer. Eventually turned out to have a similar concept to my previous painting Bubblegum Clouds. I wanted to show through this piece three major aspects: drama, power, and elegance.
Space Odyssey, by Luz, Acrylic on a Canvas, 2019.
Lana Del Rey
I originally did a quick sketch of Lana Del Ray based on a Pinterest pin. Eventually, I tried watercolor painting; this was my first time using this medium.
Lana Del Rey, by Luz, Watercolor, on Watercolor Paper, 2018.
